Yeah, you really have to be careful with spyware and IM, as there are some people who will try and spread adware via popular IM programs such as yahoo and MSN. For this reason, I prefer to use facebook or something that allows me to chat via an actual website in my browser, and not directly off my desktop as it were.

That's the reason I don't like entering chat rooms. Spam messages just keep on popping and if you accidentally click on any of them your computer is dead.

Better be safe than sorry. Using company email, especially if one is in financial services and must adhere to finra record retention rules, as an example, can be much more safe.

I have switched to gchat and Skype because they are much better than yahoo when compared to blocking spam messages. In all the time i have used skype and gchat i have not encountered even a single virus.

Well, I have never used Yahoo Messenger, I also use it to receive normal message and the picture shows it may be very easy to use and interesting, i will try.

If you receive a message from an unknown person, that asks you to click on a link, ignore the message and block them immediately and report them as spam.
