“Taco Master” Most Popular IPad Download
The world’s most downloaded iPad application is a game from a Mexican game designer called Taco Master and not only is it popular with iPad users, but it also represents one of the most downloaded purchases of any type of software on Apple’s iTunes website. The way the game works is that players will act as a street vendor and attempt to make the best type of taco they can in the shortest amount of time possible. The maker and iPad applications developer of the game says that it’s very addictive, fun and that iPad users in over 50 countries, so far, have downloaded the application.
The cost of the game is only 12 pesos which is equivalent to 97¢ in U.S. dollars and the game’s popularity has inspired copycats and even a pirated version which is available for free and can be downloaded on many spots on the Internet. The creator of the game says that it is not an expected that there would be pirated versions available because the most popular iPad applications are always copied and pirated.
The developer is not concerned that sales of the game would be negatively impacted by pirated sales because individuals who download pirated games and applications would be doing so anyway whether or not there was a pirated version of the taco game available. The media group who employs the game’s designer says that it has over 100 game designers on its payroll and that the company is the largest provider and creator of video games in Latin America.
